SHELTERING YOU FROM THE RAIN!

THAT                                                    OR                                                      THIS?   Hi people, How many of you have had some sort of bother with your roof over the winter period? I know personally that this winter alone has seen a dramatic increase in calls to our company regarding weather damage to people’s roofs. With this still in your minds, you may already be saying to yourself that your home insurance policy will cover you for storm damage, which theoretically is correct however insurance companies are increasingly looking to use the wear and tear card and void any claim. So potentially you are stuck with a call out fee, a material and labour cost which can be very expensive, even if you ring the professional and reputable companies, never mind the fly by nights, and then if you are lucky enough to get a guarantee it will only cover the part of the roof that has just been repaired. Ok then are we all agreed a potential problem, Something else worth bearing in mind for the ones of us lucky to have a newer type of property, a roof tile is not given a manufacturer guarantee over any specific time period and the majority of repairs we have carried out this winter have been on the newer estates. So from my way of thinking would it not be better to have a roof cover (no pun intended)that insures you have your roof surveyed annually and any required maintenance carried out there and then, also a 24 hour call out to any roof related problems within that 12month period with no charge for any labour or materials. Sound ok, well it does to me. We will be launching all of the above from March 2013 and yes it will be very affordable and can probably make you a saving on your current home insurance policy premium…   I will keep you posted Tony Forget DIY, Remember...

READ ALL ABOUT IT

At last the dreaded snow has gone, (for good I hope), and we can finally start to catch up on our outstanding work. Hooray !   The guys are busy putting a roof on a sun room in Hebburn, and also laying a patio in Durham.   We are also working on a backlog of roof problems which are a consequence of the winter weather in the UK, I’m afraid.   If you have followed my recent blogs you would have noticed me mention about a home roof cover policy which TLC is to launch in March. The policy will provide you with a yearly inspection and cover your roof all year round for labour and materials on any repairs that arise in that period. However the full details will be revealed in March.   So all is busy on site and in the office, so I better crack on.   Bye for now   And Remember forget DIY, think TLC!...
